Dave and Heidi Boyd
What an epic adventure (so far). Dave has an engineering background and Heidi has a finance background. After having our beautiful family, we decided we wanted to do something for us so we purchased a property in Coonawarra to run some sheep and grow our own veggies.
This property just happened to come with around 1,600 olive trees, few hundred lemon and cherry trees and many other varieties of fruit trees. After a couple of years in our oasis, we thought we would have a go in harvesting olives and make our own extra virgin olive oil which went extremely well and we enjoyed the process.
We then decided we needed a name…..Confido is Latin for “I Trust” and is the motto on our family crest. Confido Coonawarra was perfect!
Fast forward 6 years later, I have left my full time job as Finance Manager of a winery to focus on our new business which was terrifying (still is to a degree). We have an olive harvester, an olive oil processor and 8 products in our range. We now have some retailers selling our products and we have been attending local markets.
Part of our plan is to open our property to visitors and enjoy experiences such as an Olive Oil Tasting Experience, Harvesting/Processing Experience, Cooking with Olive Oil Experiences and more. We have been overwhelmed with the positive response we have received from our customers.
We are looking forward to showing how wonderful the Limestone Coast of South Australia is and what it can produce.
